Robert Downey Jr. is officially a Broadway star and we have the first photos from his new play McNeal! The Oscar-winning actor is making his Broadway debut in the brand new play, which is being produced by Lincoln Center Theater in assocation with Team Downey. Here’s a synopsis: “Jacob McNeal (Downey Jr.) is a great writer, one of our greatest, a perpetual candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature. But McNeal also has an estranged son, a new novel, old axes to grind and an unhealthy fascination with Artificial Intelligence.” Also starring in the play are Tony winners Andrea Martin and Ruthie Ann Miles, as well as Melora Hardin, Rafi Gavron, Brittany Bellizeare, and Saisha Talwar. McNeal was written by Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akhtar and features direction by Bartlett Sher. The limited engagement is running through November 24 at Lincoln Center Theater.
