Mercedes Moné made her debut in AEW at Big Business, instantly becoming a top star in the women’s division.
The former Sasha Banks opened the show, with a sold-out Boston crowd erupting at her first appearance in AEW since being pictures at Wembley Stadium at All In.
The CEO spoke with Renee Paquette on AEW Close Up following her debut on AEW Dynamite this week. The former WWE star revealed she is on a ‘global mission’ to start a revolution in AEW, and intends to wrestle all over the world in her new role.
“These past two years have been a whirlwind of a journey that I couldn’t even begin to explain. But I can a little bit, because the fans were here. Fans from all over the world, and not just from Boston, came from just speculation. It was never announced that Mercedes Moné was officially here in AEW, but we gave a little sign. Little teasers.”
“Just on that pure speculation, to hear that crowd eruption. To know that I am on a global mission. I am on a AEW revolution!”
Mercedes Moné Thinks The Women In AEW Are ‘The Best’
In that same interview, Mercedes Moné called the AEW women’s wrestlers ‘the best’, noting that she has only wrestled two women in the company so far in his career.
“I got to lead a women’s revolution before and I am here to do so much more. The women here are the best. I’ve been watching for years. Getting to watch every single week and to have dreams again. The most insane and the best feeling, because I’ve been missing those dreams, missing those goals. I’ve been missing things to go chase after and go fight for.”
“This is the place where I can do all that. There are so many women I’ve never been in the ring with here. There’s maybe only two women I have been in the ring with. But to explore that, and make sure that this is global. We can do this in Mexico, we can do this in Japan, in the UK. We can do this all over the world, and we’re going to be doing that here in AEW.”
