While Lionel Messi intends to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games if Argentina qualifies, the Argentine U23s led by Javier Mascherano are playing their ticket in the coming days during the TQO organized in Venezuela.

What if Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi and even Neymar all three found themselves at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games football tournament? France is obviously qualified as the host country and Thierry Henry, the Espoirs coach, is waiting to know if he can count on the star captain of the Blues (among the three possible players over 23).

Argentina and Brazil will know this week if they will compete in the Olympic tournament organized in seven stadiums in France (July 24-August 10). The South American qualifying tournament has been taking place for two weeks in Venezuela and the Abiceleste, the Seleçao as well as Paraguay and the Venezuelans have qualified for the final phase, a four-way championship with two seeds.

The Olympic path for Argentina and Brazil

Eyes are on the Argentinian U23s led by Javier Mascherano, since Lionel Messi would agree to lead the team to the next Games, he the gold medalist in 2004. The Argentinians face the Venezuelan Espoirs this Sunday, while the Brazil (with new Strasbourg player Andrey Santos and future Real Madrid striker Endrick) therefore faces Paraguay.

Starting next Wednesday, we will have Argentina-Paraguay and Brazil-Venezuela, before the final clash between Brazilians and Argentines on Saturday. The sentence is near. Note that Brazil is a double Olympic champion, led by Neymar during the Rio Olympics in 2016 and by Dani Alves at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
