Eight-time Ballon d’Or and world champion with Argentina, Lionel Messi was nevertheless excluded from his ideal eleven by Kaka.

If his career is today much closer to its end point than to its beginning, Lionel Messi nonetheless remains a reference in the world of football. Winner of eight Ballons d’Or, a World Cup and multiple trophies with FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, the Argentinian is even considered by many to be the best footballer of all time. But some do not agree.

Asked to reveal his ideal eleven made up of players from all eras, Kaka did not select Lionel Messi. The former Brazilian international, also world champion (2002) and holder of numerous titles, therefore chose to leave “La Pulga” aside. In front of the cage, the 2007 Ballon d’Or chose his former teammate, Dida. On the defensive side, Brazil is still well represented with Cafu and Roberto Carlos on the wings. The central hinge is made up of two other former AC Milan players, Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Nesta.

Well-known elected officials

In this star-studded composition, relayed Tuesday by A.S., Kaka selected Andrés Iniesta in midfield. On this same line, he added Zinedine Zidane and Andrea Pirlo. As for the attack, he again opted for a trio composed of Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and Cristiano Ronaldo. Suffice to say that Kaka still remained loyal to the players he saw evolve when he was a professional footballer himself.

No Kylian Mbappé, no Neymar or even Pelé and Diego Armando Maradona, but this All Stars selection from Kaka is still made up of nine world champions, also with a total of nine Ballons d’Or (five for CR7 , two for Ronaldo, and one for Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldinho). The sidelining of Lionel Messi remains no less astonishing.
