Since hanging up his boots in 2023, Ozil has undergone a pretty remarkable body transformation having gone from the small and slight frame of a technically-gifted playmaker, to the bulkier physique of a real gym buff.

Of course Ozil was in incredible shape as a footballer, but since then he's really packed on the muscle mass.

Videos posted by his his personal trainer Alper Aksac on Instagram showed just how impressive Ozil's physique is looking, with the former Germany international now kicking on even further.

Sharing on his Instagram channel, Ozil wrote: "Always stay ready, then you don't need to get ready," with a black and white video of him showing off his arm strength in the gym.

But after being shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, Arsenal fans were all saying the same thing.

One fan wrote: "Man decided to finally work out when he retired.. why he never bulked up for us, man looked lazy asf playing for us in the end."

A second supporter wrote: "Shoulda done this ages ago."

"Seeing Ozil get wedge in retirement when Arsenal needed that muscle while he was at his best," wrote a third, while another added: "Bro didn’t do all of this when he was playing ffs."

Meanwhile, a fifth fan wrote: "Imagine this physique and talent back in the day. GOAT material."

Ozil made 254 appearances during his time at Arsenal, scoring 44 goals and providing 79 assists.

He donned a six pack during his playing days but built a reputation of his lack of physicality being his main weakness.

While his talents didn't necessarily offer himself to the physical side of the Premier League, you'd love to see how Ozil fared nowadays if he could combine in natural ability with his newfound bulky physique.

Thankfully they won't have to wait long with the World Cup winner set to take part in a star-studded over-35 World Cup featuring Ronaldinho and Thierry Henry.

Michael Owen, Ashley Cole, Joe ColeRio Ferdinand, David JamesFrank Lampard, and Robbie Fowler are all expected to play in the competition too.
