The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) earned a title shot on WWE SmackDown.
Sabin and Shelley lost the titles to #DIY (Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano) on the December 6th episode of WWE SmackDown. The duo challenged for the titles on the January 10th episode, but the bout ended in a no contest. They then beat A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory and Grayson Waller) on the January 10th episode of SmackDown.
On the January 17th episode, the Motor City Machine Guns faced Los Garza (Berto and Angel). The two teams battled back and forth, and in the closing moments, Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) interfered). They tried to help Los Garza, but their plan backfired, as the Motor City Machine Guns emerged victorious. In doing so, they earned a shot at the WWE Tag Team Championship.
As of this writing, there is no word on when the title match will take place. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
