MVP lays out the plan for The Hurt Syndicate.
Following their respective departures from WWE, the trio of MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin are now part of All Elite Wrestling as the re-formed Hurt Syndicate. The three, along with Cedric Alexander, captured multiple titles in WWE as The Hurt Business. As such, it’s no surprise that they aim to collect even more gold in AEW.
“[Our mission statement] is very simple. We’re here to make money, take championships, and make sure everybody understands that by far and way, we are the absolute best in the industry right at inflicting pain on people,” MVP told AEW Close Up with Renee Paquette. “We enjoy doing it and we get paid a lot to do it. Along the way, there are people here who have championships, and those championships mean a lot to them, and they should, but we’re going to take those championships from them.
“I know, there’s no question in my mind, that there are AEW fans, there’s talent in the locker room, they’re not happy that we’re here. They’re not cheering for us and they shouldn’t be. They absolutely shouldn’t be, but we are here at this stage in our careers because we’re good enough to be here. There’s a lot of people that would like to stop us, but they can’t.”
“You’re invited to try,” Benjamin added.
So far, Benjamin is 2-1 in AEW competition, with the one loss coming at the hands of former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland. Lashley is currently preparing for a match against Strickland at AEW Full Gear.
