Naomi denies attacking Jade Cargill and expresses her interest in a potential heel run.
Cargill was attacked backstage in November, and Naomi eventually took her place as Bianca Belair’s tag team partner. She and Belair have continued to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship together.
Speaking on HUGE POP! with Donnie DaSilva and Jimmy Korderas, Naomi was asked about people thinking she was the one who attacked Jade Cargill.
“Why do they do that to me? Do you think I’m that conniving and that evil, that I would try to kill her? Because whoever did it, that was attempted murder,” Naomi said. “That was crazy, that was insane. I did not try to kill Jade Cargill. No, no. That is my sister, that is my girl. I’ll be glad when we get to the bottom of this because I’m being framed.
Naomi was also asked about Jade Cargill and her potential, and she stated that the sky was the limit for her.
“She is. She’s phenomenal, she’s one of one,” she said. “The sky is the limit, there is no limit for her, and I think that’s why whoever did what they did did it because they see where she’s going. She’s an undeniable star, and she’s gonna do history-making things in this division. Whoever it was just couldn’t handle that or got some jealousy or something, but we gonna get to the bottom of it, and we gonna get sister back.
Naomi On Potential Heel Run
Naomi was also asked about having a potential heel run. She expressed her interest in changing and evolving. However, she made it clear that she didn’t want to force it.
“At this point, I do love what Naomi has done and become,” Naomi said. “However, I don’t ever want to become stagnant or complacent, or just coasting. I do feel like there is a time for the Glow and the character Naomi to change or evolve, so I’m always up for that challenge. I’m always thinking and pushing myself, but also, I don’t want to force anything, and I feel like that timing has to be right, and it has to be thought out.
“Because for me to change after being so connected and established, and with something that still works, I would want it to be worth it, and I would want to go all in with it. If that does mean me going to the darker side, I don’t want to throw that away because it will be a big deal, not just for me but I think for fans. I still think I am a very safe woman in a roster where you can place everywhere, and I’m established and strong. So if I was to get away from that, we gotta go all the way. I gotta get nasty, I gotta get dirty, I gotta be something nobody’s ever seen before, everything gotta change, and I’m up for it. I would love that.”
