Former Chief Whip of the 10th Senate, Ali Ndume, has reaffirmed his stance on the hardship in Nigeria and the actions needed by its leaders.
Addressing the media at his residence in Maiduguri, Borno State, Ndume expressed confidence that he is speaking the truth, emphasizing the suffering and anger among Nigerian citizens. He urged President Bola Tinubu to heed his concerns and take appropriate measures.
Ndume stated, “It is unpatriotic to blindly support the President in everything he does. True patriotism lies in speaking the truth to power, be it the President or anyone else. In Hausa, we say, ‘Allah ya na tare da mai gaskiya,’ meaning God is always on the side of truthful people.”
He added, “I know I am not wrong. The people are suffering and angry. The President should consider my words and take action to alleviate their suffering. Leaders need to review the situation and acknowledge the truth. It was God who gave me the position, and it is God who has taken it away. I hold no grudge against anyone.”
Ndume emphasized that his primary commitment is to his role as a senator for the Federal Republic of Nigeria, not the titles he held within the Senate. “Alhamdulillah, God granted me victory, and I am with God,” he concluded.
