Neal Maupay has built a reputation as the Premier League’s s***housery king.

The Brentford striker is known for his antics on the pitch, winding up opponents with cheeky jibes and annoying tactics.

Maupay’s name has been in the headlines in recent weeks after he claimed his latest victim in Kyle Walker, having clashed with the England defender against Manchester City.

He came under fire for claims he brought Walker's family into an onfield spat amid news that the City star had fathered a child with a different woman to his wife.

However, the frontman has since disputed that he made such an action at all.

The rivals come up against each other once against tonight as Man City host Brentford at the Etihad Stadium, live on talkSPORT

And with fans waiting to see if any more arguments occur on the pitch, talkSPORT.com takes a look at Maupay’s busy history when it comes to s***housery...

Maddison’s dart celebration

Maupay has been in fine form in 2024 and that boost in confidence on the pitch has led to some incredible winding up.

In January, he scored the opening goal against Tottenham and wheeled away to the corner to celebrate in front of the home fans.

He opted to use James Maddison’s signature darts celebration, lining up with Ivan Toney and throwing an imaginary dart into the camera.

This got under Maddison’s skin and he raced up to Maupay and slapped him on the back of the head in what was an awkward altercation between the two.

Spurs would go on to win the game and their midfielder commented on the antics saying: "I told him he hasn't scored enough goals to have his own celebration so he had to copy mine."

Maupay hadn’t given up on telling Maddison he managed to get in his head though, responding a few days later.

He said: “He took it really personally, it’s funny. I threw a dart and he got so offended he posted my picture on his Instagram."

He also wrote: "Ahaha living rent free," in the comment section of Maddison's Instagram post

Double trouble at Chelsea

Maupay was in his best form against Chelsea in October as Brentford came away from Stamford Bridge as 2-0 winners.

He started the game as a substitute but somehow was the first player booked

The striker was warming up on the touchline before stepping onto the pitch to kick the ball away and prevent Cole Palmer from taking a free-kick.

Speaking on talkSPORT, former Chelsea player Scott Minto criticised the Frenchman for his needless antics on the touchline earlier.

"It's ridiculous, so unnecessary," Minto said.

"Why are you putting a foot in there and getting booked before you're even on the pitch?

"Surely that will change Thomas Frank's mind about even bringing him on!"

Thomas Frank did bring Maupay on in the end, and his contribution to the second goal of the game led to his next piece of s***housery.

Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez had come up for a corner but was caught out of his goal as Brentford broke away to score into an empty net.

Following the error from the goalkeeper, Maupay wore former teammate Sanchez’s shirt on the team bus, posting it on social media with the caption ‘Mood’.

Arsenal antics

Arsenal fans are unlikely to have made it this far down the list considering how much they dislike Maupay and his antics.

Their beef started during a 2-1 defeat to Brighton in 2020 as Maupay injured then-Gunners goalkeeper Bernd Leno before scoring the winning goal for the Seagulls.

He also scrapped with Matteo Guendouzi following the full-time whistle and since that game, the forward has become an enemy in North London.

Since then, he has celebrated with a crying impression multiple times and he has dedicated one such particular gesture in his side's 1-1 draw with Southampton to the Arsenal fans.

"I remember the Arsenal fans were really, really mad at me because I scored but also I was involved in their keeper's injury, so I would say they were not happy with me,” he said in 2022.

"So when I scored my next goal it was to give them a shout really."

Maupay’s actions against Arsenal have also been proven to have inadvertently played a huge part in Argentina’s World Cup win

Emi Martinez deputised for goalkeeper Leno after he was injured by the striker and used the opportunity to come out of the shadows as a journeyman loanee.

Martinez impressed so much that he moved to Aston Villa where he became their’s and Argentina’s no.1.

That eventually resulted in him starring during the 2022 World Cup for the Albiceleste.

Martinez denied France’s Randal Kolo Muani with a stunning match-saving stop, before being the star of the shootout in the final.

Remembering the first domino that fell, Maupay told YRDS: “I got so many messages that said I basically won the World Cup.

“Leno got injured after contact with me and then Emi played and then for Argentina, so yeah.”
