New AEW World Tag Team Champions were crowned on the January 22nd episode of AEW Dynamite.
Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin of the Hurt Syndicate challenged Private Party (Zay and Quen) for the titles on Wednesday’s show. Lashley and Benjamin controlled the action throughout the bout. Lashley slammed Zay through the announce table. The challengers maintained the advantage, and Lashley hit the Spear for the win. In doing so, he and Benjamin won the gold and captured their first titles in AEW.
Private Party previously won the AEW World Tag Team Championship at AEW Fright Night Dynamite on October 30. That same night, Lashley made his AEW debut and reunited with Benjamin and MVP. Zay and Quen held the titles for 84 days before Lashley and Benjamin dethroned them.
