Kieran Trippier has been talking ahead of England’s opening Euros match against Serbia tonight.

The first England group game at 8pm on Sunday, to be shown live on BBC1.

The Newcastle United star expected to start at left-back, yet again showing his versatility to this England set-up.

Ahead of England v Serbia, the other two teams in Group C play each other, with Denmark v Slovenia at 5pm.

The first match on Sunday is from Group D, Poland v Holland at 2pm.

Kieran Trippier speaking to the Football Daily podcast ahead of England v Serbia tonight:

“It doesn’t matter which position.

“If I play right-back, left-back… I will always be ready.

“I like to bomb forward and put crosses in but sometimes I need to adjust my game.

“Maybe I will be more defensive at left-back [if selected].

“But for me it is just the same.

“The distances, checking your left shoulder instead of your right, the fine details.

“If it’s left-back, no problem.

“I will give my best.

“If I’m not playing, I’m always supportive of my team.

“Because ultimately, if you are not playing, we all [still] want the same goal.

“It is a privilege to wear the shirt for England, whether I’m at left-back or right-back.”
