Victor Osimhen is likely to be this summer’s biggest mover.

The Napoli striker has been heavily linked with a move away from Serie A for over a year, and although he penned a new contract just six months ago, he is still expected to leave Naples at the end of the current campaign.

Believed to be a top target for Chelsea, Nigeria’s Osimhen, 25, has long been linked with a high-profile switch to Stamford Bridge.

However, according to more recent reports, including this one from Fichajes, the Blues face more and more competition as the weeks go by.

Newcastle United enter Victor Osimhen transfer race

Not only are Arsenal and Manchester United believed to have the prolific 25-year-old on their radars, but so is Newcastle United.

Despite enduring a tough, and disappointing season so far, Eddie Howe’s Magpies, just like the aforementioned teams, are also set for an important and busy summer window.

Hoping to sign Osimhen — a player capable of firing them to the next level — Newcastle, with the help of their Saudi-backed ownership, have been tipped to join the race to sign the African. The striker’s contract is thought to contain a release clause worth a staggering €130 million (£111 million).

Victor Osimhen transfer rumours continue.

The Geordies’ need for a new striker will be accelerated by Callum Wilson’s expected departure. The 32-year-old, who was a late January target for Atletico Madrid, is set to leave St. James’ Park at the end of the season (Daily Mail).

As for Osimhen, the African’s form needs little introduction. His efforts since joining Napoli from Lille in 2020 helped fire the club to their third-ever Serie A title last season, and although the club’s form, as a whole, has dropped off since, Osimhen, who has scored 13 goals in all competitions already this season, remains a standout performer.
