Newport Beach Horror ‘Hunting Matthew Nichols’ Gets Sales Deal Ahead Of AFM

EXCLUSIVE: UK sales outfit Amp International has boarded worldwide sales on the Canadian horror thriller Hunting Matthew Nichols directed by Markian Tarasiuk (There’s Someone Inside Your House), written by Sean Harris Oliver (The Fighting Season) and starring Miranda MacDougall (The Flash) and Tarasiuk

Twenty-three years after her brother mysteriously disappeared, a documentary filmmaker sets out to solve his missing person’s case. But when a disturbing piece of evidence is revealed, she comes to believe that her brother might still be alive.

The film recently had its world premiere at the Newport Beach Film Festival and is also playing at the Nightmares Film Festival and Filmquest Film Festival. Amp International will introduce the film to buyers at the upcoming American Film Market in Las Vegas.

Pic is produced by Lucy McNulty, Matt Villeneuve, Sean Harris Oliver, Markian Tarasiuk and Amy Laurel Barager. Exec producers are Mack Gordon, Miranda MacDougall, Doug Teather, Cameron Oliver, William Oliver, Craig Oliver and Monica Oliver.

The sales deal was negotiated by Anthony Buckner on behalf of Amp and by Sean Harris Oliver and Markian Tarasiuk on behalf of the filmmakers.

Markian Tarasiuk is a Ukrainian actor, director, and producer. He has appeared in more than 40 film and TV projects, including There’s Someone Inside Your House (Netflix), Surface (Apple TV), Virgin River (Netflix), Why Can’t My Life Be a Rom-Com (E!), and True Justice: Family Ties (Hallmark).

Sean Harris Oliver, whose 2019 play The Fighting Season was optioned and adapted into a TV series, previously founded and was the Co-Artistic Director of Canadian outfit Hardline Productions Theatre Company. Canadian actress Miranda MacDougall is set to appear in season two of Wild Cards (CW) and When Calls the Heart (Hallmark).

Tarasiuk is repped by Play Management and Stagecoach Entertainment. MacDougall is repped by Principals Talent Management.
