Nick Aldis wants to wrestle again.
Former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis joined WWE as a producer in August 2023. He debuted as the General Manager of WWE SmackDown in October 2023, and he has not wrestled since.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Nick Aldis noted that he was both a talent and a producer with WWE, so he had two contracts. (H/t Andrew Thompson of POST Wrestling)
“Now I have two [jobs] The producer and a talent. I have two contracts,” Aldis said. “An employee contract as a producer and a talent contract for the General Manager role.”
Nick Aldis On Potential In-Ring Return
Nick Aldis was also asked whether he was saying goodbye to his in-ring career by accepting the General Manager role. He noted that he did not necessarily see it like that. Aldis expressed his desire to wrestle again.
“I guess…but I also don’t — I don’t necessarily see it like that, 100 percent,” Nick Aldis said. “I see it more as a sort of, you know, maybe not a full-time wrestler. But I don’t know. Look, it gets asked all the time, by everyone except me. I have never once said, hey, what about me? Could I wrestle? And all that because I don’t need to. If and when the time comes, it’ll be what they want and it will hopefully be the right time. I just told them that if you wanna do that, I’m ready.
Aldis also said that he was not at peace with the career that he had had. He reiterated that he wanted to wrestle again.
“In all honesty, no,” Aldis said. “I would like to lace ‘em up. I don’t care if it’s on a regular basis but, I’ve earned it, once. I don’t know (if that means more than once). If it was one more time, so be it. Like I said, I feel like I meet the criteria to be on that canvas at least once… (My bicep is) 100 percent.”
