Nick Aldis thinks a return to TNA could be fun under the right circumstances.
The Smackdown General Manager wrestled for TNA for seven years between 2008 and 2015, including a short run in 2017. He is a former TNA World Champion and even defended the belt against Sting in The Icon’s second-last TNA match.
However, he seems to have retired from wrestling and is now heading Smackdown as their general manager. While he has got physical with wrestlers like Randy Orton, he has yet to wrestle a match since joining the promotion in 2023.
Nick Aldis spoke to Chris Van Vliet on Insight and was asked about potentially making an appearance in TNA, as part of WWE’s recent partnership with the company. He noted his past success as a TNA World Champion as something that could be interesting if he makes an appearance on Impact.
Aldis said he hadn’t thought about it. He added that it could be fun if he went in as general manager, implying he was not looking to wrestle in TNA again in the near future.
“I guess I hadn’t really thought about that, but it might be fun as the GM. Depending on the context.” Nick Aldis told Chris Van Vliet. “Obviously the [Motor City] Machine Guns just debuted. That was cool. It was cool for me to be involved in that. Because of our history and everything. But again, I think one of the really exciting things about the Paul Levesque era, for lack of a better term, I tried to coin the Renaissance era, but that doesn’t seem to have taken off.”
