He is one of the players of the summer. Nico Williams wowed his world during Euro 2024 with Spain, with whom he finished European champion against England in Berlin on July 14.

Since then, the Spanish winger has been one of the most tracked players on the Old Continent. The Athletic Bilbao star is of interest to the biggest European clubs including FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

In recent hours, the Spanish press has been reporting that the Catalan club has not given up on signing the 22-year-old player. However, one element could disrupt the Blaugranas’ plans.

Nico Williams changes number

Nico Williams is one of the gems of Spanish football. The left winger demonstrated this during the European Nations Championship where he continued to perform and impress all of Europe and the big clubs.

But for now, he is an Athletic Bilbao player until June 2027. The Basque club would have made a big decision concerning him by giving him the number 10 of the club left free since the departure of the club’s child Iker Munian.

The 2024 European champion did not hide his joy at wearing number 10. “I am proud to receive Munian’s number 10 and to mark the history of the club as he did,” he added on the club’s official website. A strong sign regarding his future? To be continued…
