EXCLUSIVE: Buckle up, the sequel to Prime Video‘s 2023 hit romance movie Culpa Mía (My Fault) is coming down the road.

“There’re a lot of cars, just like the first one!” quipped Culpa Mía star Nicole Wallace when speaking with Deadline about her new movie, Culpa Tuya (Your Fault), at the Prime Video Presents Trailblazers event in London yesterday (October 1).

Culpa Mía is an adaptation of Argentinian author Mercedes Ron’s novel of the same name, which is part of the bestselling Culpables trilogy that became popular through Wattpad. It tells the story of Noah (Wallace) who has to leave her town, boyfriend and friends behind and move into the mansion of her mother’s new rich husband. There she meets Nick (Gabriel Guevara), her new stepbrother. They fall madly in love in secret.

When first asked about the sequel, Wallace joked about the abundance of vehicles, a prominent aspect of the initial movie before revealing Culpa Tuya will explore a different side of the main characters.

“You see Nick and Noah come into a little more maturity and trying to find out what they want for themselves in a relationship,” she said. “And there’s a lot more depth into the secondary characters, which I love because you don’t see that sometimes in films.”

Wallace also gushed about the upcoming UK version of Prime Video’s Spanish original movie. “It’s so cool,” she said. My Fault: London will star up-and-comers Asha Banks (The Magic Flute) and Matthew Broome (The Buccaneers) as Noah and Nick. Banks was also present at the Prime Video Presents Trailblazers event and the two leading ladies took pictures together on the blue carpet.

“It’s obviously weird because it’s been so fast, and we’re just coming into the second and third [movie], but Asha is amazing,” said Wallace of her English counterpart. “I’m very flattered that she’s playing Noah and I’m very happy to have someone understand the whole fandom as well.”

Prime Video is releasing Culpa Tuya on December 27. Production has recently wrapped on My Fault: London in the UK.
