No vacancy in Ondo Govt House, Aiyedatiwa tells co-aspirants

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has said there is no vacancy at Government House, Akure.

Fielding questions from newsmen after his screening at the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the National Secretariat in Abuja, on Friday, he said he was in control of the structure in the state.

The governor who commented on the controversy surrounding his WAEC certificate described those saying it was forged as mischief makers, asking them to repent.

He said, “I will just advise them to repent and try to go to the field and work. They are interested in the seat, and the seat is not vacant, that is why they are trying to do all that they are doing.

“You see, we are all indigenes of Ondo State and we are all qualified to run to be the governorship of Ondo State, but there is a sitting governor. I have the structures; the people and the competence.”

The ruling party has fixed its primary for April 20, 2024.

Aiyedatiwa will lock horns with 15 other aspirants for the ticket of the APC for the November 16, 2024 election.

The other aspirants are: Senator Jimoh Ibrahim; Olusola Oke; Prof. Francis Faduyile; Dr Funmi Waheed-Adekojo and APC National Vice Chairman (South West), Isaac Kekemeke.

Others are Akinfolarin Samuel, Olusoji Ehinlanwo, Okunjimi Odimayo, Adewale Akinterinwa, Olugbenga Edema, Gen. Ohunyeye Olamide, Morayo Lebi, Garvey Oladiran Iyanjan and Ifeoluwa Oyedele.
