It looks like NWA 76 is coming to the Keystone State.

WrestleZone has learned of plans for the National Wrestling Alliance to host NWA 76 in Philadelphia later this year. The event would take place at the 2300 Arena (formerly ECW Arena) on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Tickets are expected to go on sale in April.

NWA 76 would mark the first event in Philadelphia for the National Wrestling Alliance under Billy Corgan’s ownership. This would also be the first NWA flagship event in Philadelphia since the Eddie Gilbert Memorial Brawl held in February 1998.

NWA Anniversary weekend history

The yearly NWA Anniversary show (NWA 73-75) has been held at the Chase’s Khorassan Ballroom in St. Louis for the past three years. Prior to that, NWA 70 took place at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds in Nashville in 2018.

The National Wrestling Alliance has not publicly confirmed any details about NWA 76 at this time. An official for the NWA responded to our request for comment on this story, and offered the following response:

“We will be announcing in the coming weeks all the details of when and where NWA 76 will be taking place,” the statement read. “Until then, let the speculation continue.”

Earlier this year, NWA lead commentator Joe Galli teased the event moving to a new location during an appearance on the Knockouts and 3 Counts podcast. Galli said plans were already underway for NWA 76 and hinted that the show might take place “somewhere on the east coast.”

“This next year’s gonna be great. We’re already planning out our big Anniversary Show. There’s gonna be some changes for it,” Galli said (via Andrew Thompson / POST Wrestling). ‘So there’s a little hit for you there. We might change a location, we might come to a bigger city. Perhaps somewhere on the east coast for it too.”
