Last week was a historical week for WWE as a whole. Monday Night Raw made its Netflix debut, and it was a huge success. As WWE commentator Joe Tessitorre mentioned during SmackDown, the Live Stream was the number one program in the United States, and the following day, it was the number one show globally. NXT was a history-making show as well.

The New Year’s Evil special edition of NXT two new World Champions were crowned. Giulia defeated Roxanne Perez to become the new NXT Women’s Champion. In the night’s main event ‘The Ruler’ Oba Femi managed to dethrone Trick Williams to become the new NXT World Champion. Adding to this, ‘The Final Boss’ The Rock made an appearance on NXT TV for the first time ever.

During a recent interview with Scott Fishman for TV Insider, Oba Femi shared his thoughts on The People’s Champion The Rock. Femi mentioned that The Rock congratulated him, but unfortunately, the time the two spent together was short. Now, the NXT Champion is looking forward to crossing paths with the Great One once again.

“Everyone knows who Rock is. I watched the Rock growing up. He is definitely a great entertainer and professional wrestler. He did tell me congratulations. We crossed paths. There was unfortunately not enough time for us to have a full chat and for him to give me some nuggets. Hopefully, this wasn’t the last time he makes an appearance on NXT. I know for sure it won’t be the last time I come across him. The next time we do I know we’ll have more of a conversation,” Oba Femi said.
