Official: Barcelona squad list to face Athletic Club – Dani Olmo included

As Barcelona get set to take on Athletic Club later tonight in Montjuic, manager Hansi Flick has announced the squad list of players for the encounter.

The biggest news is that new signing Dani Olmo, who missed the La Liga opener against Valencia last week, has been named in the squad list for the first time ever.

However, the Spanish attacking midfielder is not guaranteed to play for Barcelona tonight at this point and him making an appearance will be subject to whether his registration in La Liga is completed in time before the game.

Meanwhile, Fermin Lopez is back in the squad after having returned to training earlier this week following a short vacation post the Olympic games.

However, Barcelona will be without defender Andreas Christensen who is sidelined with an ankle injury.

Meanwhile, Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, Ronald Araujo, and Ansu Fati all remain unavailable through injuries as well. Clement Lenglet also misses out as he is on his way to Atletico Madrid.

Young defender Sergi Dominguez earns a call-up along with Ander Astralaga, Alex Valle, Hector Fort, and Gerard Martin.
