Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal has been roped in by Adidas, as he becomes the new face of the German sports manufacturer just like his idol Lionel Messi.

“I’m so proud to join Adidas. It has always been the brand that the best players wear,” said the 16-year-old Barcelona star about the partnership.

“Leo Messi used to be my idol growing up, and he has been wearing Adidas boots since I started watching football. I’m very excited for the years to come,” he added.

A statement signing

Barcelona got an impactful advertising news today, featuring Yamal as the central figure. The budding talent from their youth squad has officially become the face of Adidas, marking a significant transition from Nike, mirroring the trajectory once taken by football icon and former club captain Messi.

Yamal has been actively testing his new boots since January 27, all of them donning a pure white color. During a recent appearance against Napoli in the UEFA Champions League, he proudly displayed his chosen pair, identical to the ones Messi favours.
