This is one of the hot issues at the end of the season in France. OM wants to part ways with Pape Gueye. And for good reason, the Senegalese midfielder is at the end of his contract next June, and he does not seem to want to extend the lease which binds him to the Marseille club. Obviously, to hope to recover a small ticket, the management of Pablo Longoria wishes to part with it this summer. As revealed exclusively on our site, the Marseille management is ready to go hard and threatens to sideline the midfielder until the end of the season.
A sort of ultimatum for the player who refused two extension proposals made during the month of December, and whom Olympique de Marseille wanted to keep. Behind the scenes, we suspect the player of having already given his agreement with another club for next season. Only, until now, apart from some vague English interest, there was not really any jostling at the gate for the player.
A return to the south?
But now the Diario de Cadiz explains that there is a new interested party for his services. It’s Cadiz, currently eighteenth in the La Liga standings. The Andalusian club is imperatively looking for a midfielder before the end of the winter transfer window, to cover the serious injury of Fede San Emeterio, and the Marseille player is one of the players who are at the top of the list of potential transferable players from the Spanish team. He is in competition with Amadou Diawara, Guinean midfielder from Anderlecht in particular.
For its part, the site specializing in Sevilla FC news The Hill of Nervion explains that the Sevillian club is interested in the player, who already played at Sanchez Pizjuan in the second half of the season, leaving rather good memories. On the other hand, Sevilla would rather think of enlisting him next summer, once he is free, rather than taking action this summer. To be continued…
