Orange Cassidy is glad All Elite Wrestling lets him be something unique and new.

Speaking on Q101, Cassidy was asked about his style and whether people have ever tried to push him to do something different or act a certain way. He emphasized that AEW let him be something new. He also said that nobody forces him to do anything.

“Fortunately, I work for AEW. No one forces me to do anything I don’t want to do,” said Cassidy. “They also are open to what I want to do. I’m very, very fortunate AEW exists, because I wouldn’t be sitting here talking to you if it wasn’t. They let me be something unique, something new, and let me embrace it.”

Orange Cassidy: I’d Be Forgotten Elsewhere

Cassidy went on to say that if he were somewhere else, he might be pigeonholed into a role that didn’t work for him. He noted that he may have ended up being forgotten after a short amount of time.

“If I was somewhere else, I probably would be pigeonholed into a certain type of thing and forgotten after a year,” Cassidy said. “At that point, hopefully after a year. I’m able to evolve, become different, and I’m not the same wrestler…I don’t wrestle the same way I did four years ago, five years ago. Which is a kind of credit to AEW to kind of let me grow.

“I get it all the time, ‘You should do this, you should do that.’ And if it doesn’t feel right to me…I just do the same thing I do throughout my career. If I think it’s good, I’m gonna do it, and if people don’t like it, then I’ll try something else.”
