In that same dress, Halle found Adrien Brody on the Oscars red carpet talking to Mario Lopez for Access Hollywood, per the New York Post. Auntie walked over, put her arms around his shoulders and his chest, and then turned to his girlfriend with a lil’ warning. “I’m sorry, Georgina, but I gotta do it,” she said. Before Chapman could respond, Halle Berry pulled this man in and kissed him on the lips for at least three seconds. They both rocked side to side before they each pulled away and hugged. Halle then turned to Georgina again, seemingly explaining. “I had to pay him back. You know I did,” Berry told Georgina.
Halle & Georgina Reacts To The Viral Smooch
Halle Berry chatted with Entertainment Tonight moments after saying goodbye to Adrien and Georgina on the red carpet. The Hollywood vet admitted that she’s been waiting over two decades to get her sweet revenge.
“Now I got a chance to pay him back on his big night,” Berry told the outlet. She also reportedly said Georgina Chapman, who has been dating Brody since 2020, gave her the green light. In that same ET interview, Berry confirmed she’s still dating Van Hunt. They also got together in 2020. Berry told one of the outlet’s interviewers that her man was at home with the kids on Oscars night. “He is holding it down tonight,” she said. “Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do for the family.”
Meanwhile, Georgina appears to be unbothered by the sneak kiss in front of her eyes! She spoke to Extra about the moment that same night. “I mean, how can you deny a man a kiss with Halle Berry,” Chapman said. Adding that Brody was “more than fine” with the smooch.

As mentioned, Adrien Brody shocked Halle in 2003 when he gave her a similarly passionate smooch on the Oscars stage. At the time, she was a presenter for the ‘Best Performance’ nominees, and Brody had won for his role in ‘The Pianist.’ After her announcement, Brody got on stage, hugged Halle Berry, and then kissed her on the lips for a few seconds, even dipping her!
The smooch was controversial for a hot minute as fans debated whether the issue of Halle Berry’s consent. In 2017, she admitted to Andy Cohen on ‘WWHL’ that it was an unplanned moment. Berry even declined to rate the kiss, saying all she could think about was “what the f**k is going on right now.”
“I knew nothing about it,” she told Andy Cohen. “I was like, ‘What the f–k’s happening right now?’ That is what was going through my mind. Adrien has yet to speak out about this new smooch. Note that immediately after Halle kissed him, he kissed Georgina Chapman, which Halle said was “all love.” Brody also gave his lady her flowers in his Oscars acceptance speech on Sunday night. Brody won in the ‘Best Actor’ category.
