Gunmen raided Dutse Baupma in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and abducted four residents.
Isah, an eyewitness, recounted the ordeal, stating that the attackers arrived around 11:50 pm and targeted the home of Engineer Patrick. They kidnapped his wife and brother, among others. Isah described the harrowing scene, saying, “From the engineer’s house, after carrying his wife and brother, they divided themselves into two groups. One group went towards the riverside that leads to Kubwa and Bwari, while the other group went towards the hillside.”
Another community leader, preferring anonymity, narrated how they responded to the attack. He mentioned reaching out to security forces, but the kidnappers escaped with their captives. He highlighted the need for a police outpost in the community to deter such incidents, emphasizing, “Whatever is happening here is not out of the knowledge of the security architecture of the FCT.”
The leader also confirmed the identities of the kidnapped individuals, stating, “The wife and brother of one Engineer Patrick were also among the people that were kidnapped, and also a Pastor.” He underscored the severity of the situation, noting the use of AK47s by the attackers.
Despite efforts to reach the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, for confirmation, no response was received at the time of filing the report.
