Former NFL Player Pat McAfee has been a prime fixture on Monday Night RAW since his return at the Royal Rumble earlier this year, to rejoin the veteran commentator Michael Cole at the announcer’s desk to call the action.
During the June 24 edition of RAW, McAfee’s absence was notable, and Michael Cole reassured viewers not to overthink it. It was later revealed that McAfee missed the show due to last-minute family emergency.
Pat McAfee was originally scheduled to be involved in the Wyatt Sicks storyline. Teases had been made on both RAW and his show, The Pat McAfee Show, leading to speculation about his involvement.
However, on the July 1 edition of Monday Night RAW, as the show opened with Jey Uso’s entrance to the ring, Michael Cole announced that his broadcast colleague would return to the announcer’s desk next week on the red brand.
As Pat McAfee and his family navigate this difficult time, it remains to be seen whether WWE will continue with their original plans for him in the Wyatt Sicks storyline as he returns to RAW next week.
