Patrick and Brittany Mahomes were each other’s MVPs long before Patrick became the star quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs.
The adorable duo are high school sweethearts who celebrated their first marriage anniversary in 2023.
“One of the best weeks of my life, marrying your best friend it’s one of the greatest things you could do! 🙏🏼,” Brittany gushed in an Instagram tribute to her hubby on their first anniversary.
“Nothing beats doing life with you and these beautiful kiddos of ours! … Year 1 was wild but we got many more to go☺️.”
As she noted, they’ve already started growing their dream team, adding two kids to their brood beginning in 2021.

Humble high school beginnings

During a 2020 appearance on “Today,” Patrick remembered their first Christmas together being similar to the 2008 romantic comedy, “Four Christmases.”
“We had to go to each one of our family members’ Christmas parties, and it contains a whole day of going from house to house trying to make sure that we see everybody,” he recalled.

“Just a normal teenage kid showing up at the family dinner type stuff and being nervous and everything.”
Junior prom official

Patrick sweetly called his girlfriend the “best prom date a guy could ask for” in a collage he still has proudly displayed on his Instagram page.

Double the prom, double the fun

He once again complimented Brittany for being “the best prom date.”
After that, Brittany graduated and headed off to college.
Long distance lovers

After graduating in 2014, Brittany went on to play soccer at the University of Texas at Tyler.
The next year, Patrick headed to Texas Tech University to continue his football career.
Just as she does now, Brittany could often be found cheering on her beau from the sidelines when their schedule allowed.
Puppy parents

Despite their long-distance love, Patrick and Brittany were thrilled to adopt a puppy ahead of Valentine’s Day in 2016.
“I’ll take a puppy over flowers and candy anyday💕,” Brittany captioned a photo of her and Patrick holding their new pup.
They still have Steel to this day. They also adopted a second dog named Silver.

Brittany was by Patrick’s side when he was drafted into the NFL in 2017. Instagram/brittanylynneBrittany signed with the Icelandic professional soccer team Afturelding/Fram after graduating from college in 2017.
The same year, Patrick exited college early to join the Kansas City Chiefs when they selected him during the first round of the NFL draft.
Back to long distance

Despite being separated by thousands of miles and the Atlantic Ocean, their romance stayed strong.
Patrick even made sure to explore the foreign country with the soccer star.
After her time playing overseas was up, Brittany moved to Kansas City to start her life stateside with Patrick.
Brittany is her man’s No. 1 fan

Super Bowl 2020 champions

Wedding bells

In September 2020 — while at the Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium to pick up his championship ring — the star quarterback asked Brittany for her hand in marriage with a stunning emerald-cut sparkler that Page Six learned could be as large as 10 carats.
The special moment took place in what appeared to be a VIP suite decked out with rose petals, candles, white floral arrangements, and a large, lit-up “Will You Marry Me?” sign.
“On a day that was meant to celebrate you, you turned it into celebrating us,” Brittany gushed in her Instagram post celebrating the moment.

Pregnancy bliss

In October 2020, Patrick and Brittany announced they were having a baby girl during a gender reveal party they hosted for close family and friends on Zoom.
They were able to throw an in-person baby shower in December 2020.

“It almost became like a burden to try to hide her at all times when we do stuff, and this coming season we want her to be at the games and not have to worry about hiding her the entire time.”
He added, “We just want to give her the most normal life that she possibly can so she can grow and have friends and learn and get better and better every single day.”
Walking down the aisle

Baby No. 2

In 2023, Brittany revealed via an Instagram Q&A that she and her husband conceived their second child on their wedding night and that their pregnancy was not planned, per People.
It’s a boy!

They discovered they’d be having a baby boy in front of their family and friends by spraying a water gun loaded with blue paint onto a white sign that read, “Baby Mahomes … Boy or Girl?”

About a week later, Brittany gushed on Instagram over how well Sterling acclimated to being an older sister.

“She and the Longs have done an incredible job building a world-class organization and I am excited to join another championship-caliber club as it continues to make history.”

Super Bowl 2023 champion

Family vacation

First anniversary
