Pierre Ménès violently hits OM

The famous French journalist did not go easy on Olympique de Marseille, virulently criticizing all departments.

OM are struggling to perform well at the moment. The Marseille team even has a string of poor results and its objectives for the season find themselves strongly threatened. A situation which, logically, causes a lot of talk. And there are some who have been very severe in their analyzes with the Marseillais, like the very controversial Pierre Ménès.

OM’s attack in the eye of the storm

On his YouTube channel, the former Canal+ journalist declared: “The number one problem with this team is the inadequacy of its offensive line. We realize that (Pierre-Emerick) Aubameyang is terribly lonely. (Iliman) Ndiaye, it’s catastrophic; (Joaquin) Correa, it’s catastrophic; the Cameroonian (Faris Moumbagna, editor’s note), I don’t even dare to pronounce his name because I don’t know him (sic)… It’s very complicated to build a decent attack line with this squad.”

Aubameyang is the Olympian top scorer this season with 14 goals scored. And behind him, at the level of the attackers, there is total desert. Vitinha, who is no longer even there, follows with 4 achievements, just like Ismaila Sarr. Iliman Ndiaye only put up one pawn. Correa, Mughe and Luis Henrique have still not scored.

Ménès was not the only one to attack OM players. This was also the case for former footballer Christophe Dugarry. On RMC Sport, he did not mince his words and hammered home: “The players are distressingly clumsy and that’s not Gattuso’s fault or even Longoria’s, well a little more his own because it was he who chose them… These are players who have big wages. When I see the OM budget, the money is going somewhere, especially mainly on important salaries. The players are not up to par, it’s all well and good to arrive in Marseille making statements about OM, its history, the club of hearts that makes you dream… when you come to negotiate hundreds of thousands with your agent euros, at a given moment you don’t have to be in the office with your agent asking for sorrel. At a certain point I also try to put myself in the place of the coach, the managers… A football contract is not just a financial commitment, it is also a moral commitment, to work, to progress . These players I don’t see them progressing, they sold and bought like high level players but for the moment they don’t show a quarter of a half. They are not at the level,”
