The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello Sani, presented cheques totalling ₦46,672,992.75 to 23 families of deceased police officers in the state on Wednesday.
The financial assistance, provided under the Group Life Assurance, IGP Family Welfare, and Group Personal Accident Schemes, was delivered on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
The cheques were handed over to the families by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, DCP Aminu Babale, at a solemn ceremony held at the State Headquarters in Birnin Kebbi.
Speaking while addressing the beneficiaries, Babale said, “I urged you to use the funds wisely to address your immediate needs and invest in your families’ future, particularly in education and financial stability”
Beyond financial support, the event was also a moment of remembrance and prayers for the fallen officers.
Babale said, “Let me on behalf of the CP extend our condolences, pray for the eternal rest of the departed souls and strength for their families to bear the loss”
Muhammad Sani, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed profound gratitude to the IG, CP Sani, and the Kebbi State Police Command.
He acknowledged their generosity and unwavering support during difficult times, praying for continued strength, wisdom, and prosperity for the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force.
