Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has sent an urgent message to President Bola Tinubu on Friday, urging him to step in and address the escalating political turmoil in Rivers State to prevent the potential outbreak of violence.
Expressing deep concern, Primate Ayodele cautioned that failure to handle the crisis effectively could result in political assassinations and widespread bloodshed.
In a statement relayed by his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele appealed to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, to exhibit maturity as a seasoned politician and refrain from engaging in conflict with his successor, Governor Sim Fubara, stressing the inherent wrongness of such actions.
Asserting his belief in Fubara’s divine mandate, Ayodele emphasized, “Fubara is God’s project and cannot be removed from his seat because God is fighting for him.”
Ayodele directly addressed President Tinubu, urging impartial intervention to prevent the crisis from escalating into political assassinations and bloodshed. He stressed, “President Tinubu should intervene in the Rivers’ politics so that it won’t lead to political assassination and bloodbath.”
He criticized Wike’s actions, stating, “Wike is old enough to calm down, he is doing the wrong thing fighting Fubara because he can’t win.”
Describing the crisis as a needless comedy that could take a dangerous turn if left unchecked, the prophet implored both parties to lay down their weapons to avoid a situation beyond their control.
Additionally, he advised Fubara to prioritize governance over engaging in verbal confrontations with Wike and cautioned him to be wary of those around him who may be manipulated against him.
“Fubara shouldn’t reply to Wike,” Ayodele emphasized. “He has overcome him already. He should focus more on governance and watch his back because those that are aligning with him will still be used against him.”
