WWE is only days away from producing the 40th edition of its premier show, WrestleMania set to be held at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philidelphia on April 6 and 7 with an awe-inspiring set already up and exciting line-up planned for both nights.
Among that, fans are awaiting to see the high-stakes 6-Pack tag team ladder match where the reigning Undisputed WWE tag team champions, Finn Balor and Damien Priest will go against the field of 5 other teams to protect their gold.
Interestingly, WWE veteran commentator Michael Cole hinted at a significant stipulation for the tag team match. Cole mentioned that the victory wouldn’t be secured until both sets of tag titles were retrieved from above the ring. This sparked long going speculation among fans that WWE might be gearing up to split the RAW and SmackDown tag team titles once again.
Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter shed light on this potential storyline development. According to the latest reports, it appears that WWE is indeed considering this direction for the upcoming event in Philadelphia.
“There has become more and more talk about the potential to create two champions in this match so picking a winner is weird because there could be two winners.“
As for the match, defending champions, Finn Balor & Damian Pries will have to face the explosive tag teams, DIY, New Catch Republic, A-Town Down Under, New Day, and Awesome Truth. With the odds firmly stacked against The Judgment Day members, it will be interesting to see if they are able to walk out of WrestleMania 40 with the tag titles.
Do you think both of the WWE tag team titles will finally be split at WrestleMania 40? Sound off in the comments!
