The Premier League have named eight academy stars.

The Friday morning announcement (see below) with eight nominations for Premier League 2 Player of the Month for March 2024.

Amongst the eight nominations is Jamie Miley, a product of the Newcastle United academy.

Find out which eight academy stars have been nominated for their performances this month.

Eight young players have been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for March.

The nominees have been selected by the Premier League Football Development Panel. The panel will also decide the winner, who will be announced next week.

Why the players are nominated

Sam Amo-Ameyaw: The 17-year old forward was key to Southampton’s unbeaten Premier League 2 run in March. Amo-Ameyaw contributed to a goal and an assist in 5-1 win against Stoke City, then followed that up with a pair of assists and a goal against Crystal Palace.

Sonny Finch: The promising youngster starred in two five-goal thrillers, netting against Norwich City in 3-2 win before then producing a superb display against Manchester United as he scored twice and assisted the winner in a 3-2 comeback success.

Harrison Jones: Jones was on target against Manchester City in a 2-2 draw, then grabbed a double and produced an assist against Leicester City.

Jamie Miley: Miley, older brother of Newcastle United’s Lewis Miley, was a shining light in a tough month for the Magpies as they recorded one win in four matches. The 20-year-old midfielder, provided an assist to secure a 3-2 win against Sunderland, then set up two goals against Middlesbrough to end the month.

Fabian Mrozek: Liverpool kept the most clean sheets in the month of March and Mrozek was key to achieving this feat. The young Polish ‘keeper produced successive shutouts against Reading and Man City, saving nine shots in those two matches.

Adrion Pajaziti: The 21-year-old put in a incredible display in March, contributing to 10 of the 15 goals Fulham scored last month. He began March with a hat-trick and two assists in 7-1 thrashing against Reading, then scored and created two more goals away to West Ham United, before rounding a superb month with a goal and assist at Leeds United, to clinch Fulham’s third successive win.

Silko Thomas: Thomas’ double to start the month saw off Leeds United 2-0. The 19-year-old midfielder’s goalscoring form continued in the following match as he netted in 4-3 loss at Everton, then turned provider in a draw to Aston Villa.

Dylan Williams: The 20-year-old full-back is the only defender to make an appearance on the shortlist for March. He claimed an assist against Arsenal, a goal and another assist in 7-1 demolition at Newcastle, then capped off the month with an assist at home to Nott’m Forest.’
