Owen took to X, formally known as Twitter, to publicly wish son James a happy birthday.
The former Liverpool and Manchester United star posted a picture of himself next to James on a trip to Paris alongside the caption: “Welcome to adulthood son. I’m incredibly proud of the man you’ve become.”
After coming across the post, Reguilon, who bears a striking resemblance to James, replied by writing: “Dad?”
The reply garnered 20,000 likes at the time of writing with fans left in hysterics after pairing the two alongside each other.
Owen is yet to reply to Reguilon’s attempt to add humour to his post but fans on X were clearly entertained.
Reguilon joined Brentford in January after Manchester United terminated his loan spell at the club.
The Red Devils activated a break clause in the deal that saw him land at Old Trafford as cover for the injured Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
He played just 12 times for United, clocking up 655 minutes of action before returning to London to sign for the Bees.
