A Royal family spokesperson has attempted to calm widespread speculation on the condition of Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, who has not been seen in public since Christmas.
She was admitted to the hospital in January for what was termed “planned abdominal surgery,” and given a recovery timeline that would keep her from official duties until Easter.
However, her prolonged absence has caused intense speculation that her health condition is far more serious than publicly revealed. It’s a situation exacerbated by King Charles’s cancer diagnosis and Prince Williams recent absence from some royal duties.
A Royal spokesman cited by The Daily Telegraph said that “nothing has changed” and stated: “We always said that the Princess of Wales would be out until Easter, and we are not making any further comments… The Princess of Wales is still doing well.”
At the time of the surgery announcement, Kensington Palace said it will “only provide updates on Her Royal Highness’ progress when there is significant new information to share.”
