Andrew Watt is opening up about working with Lady Gaga! The 34-year-old Grammy award-winning producer and songwriter has recently worked with Gaga on “Die With a Smile,” “Disease” and her most recent “Abracadabra,” among many others. During a two-hour conversation on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, Andrew dished on what it was like in the studio with her for “Abcradabra.” Keep reading to find out more… “She just has a vision in her head the whole time. As she’s making the song, sometimes you’re speaking to her and she’s not there because she sees like the whole picture, she sees everything,” he shared. “This song kind of ended up becoming about like a night out and someone casting a spell on you, and she decided that she wanted that part of the song to be the spell that was being cast.” “It shows you a great, great melody and a great track and it’s something that evokes a feeling, the words can be whatever the message is that that artist wants to convey,” he added. As for Gaga in the studio, Andrew says she is fearless. “You should see when she steps up to a microphone, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen and any artist I’ve ever worked with. She is going for it, giving her all the point where she has to stop sometimes. She has to stop ’cause she’s giving so much of herself, like her body is shaking as she’s singing. It’s amazing.” We’ll have to wait about a week and a half to hear more of the music that Andrew worked on with Gaga for her next album, Mayhem, which comes out on March 7th. Check out the tracklist! If you didn’t know, Andrew has also worked with Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Pearl Jam, Ozzy Osbourne, Post Malone, 5 Seconds of Summer and Elton John. In fact, Andrew, Elton, Bernie Taupin and Brandi Carlisle are currently up for Best Original Song at the 2025 Oscars this weekend, for their song, “Never Too Late,” from Elton‘s documentary Elton John: Never Too Late.
