He is a bit of an unexpected guest in recent months. After an average first season with Paris Saint-Germain, Fabian Ruiz seemed doomed by the summer recruitment of the Ile-de-France club and the emergence of Warren Zaire-Emery. But the 27-year-old Spaniard was able to convince the new coach, Luis Enrique, and seems to have taken over Manuel Ugarte in the latter's mind. Asked by Mundo Deportivo as part of the Spanish selection gathering, he said he felt in excellent shape.

“Honestly, I feel very good, impatient, confident and happy with the confidence the coach has in me at PSG. A few months ago I had a shoulder injury, but I came back, I recovered very well and now the whole team is in a very good dynamic, wanting to do very important things this season. We are alive in all three competitions, that’s what we wanted”he assured.
