This is a file that the Parisian management has been negotiating for many months. Having arrived last summer at Paris Saint-Germain for around 60 million euros from Sporting Portugal, Manuel Ugarte (23 years old) clearly no longer fit into Luis Enrique’s plans during last season. Author of three assists in 37 matches in all competitions, the Uruguayan had been downgraded and was looking for an exit door for this summer.
Manchester United had quickly made him their priority for the midfielder. And as we revealed at the beginning of the summer, the former Sporting player had indeed agreed to continue his career at Old Trafford. But after long months of negotiations throughout the summer, the Red Devils seemed to have given up on the matter due to the Parisian management’s demands being too onerous and were even moving towards other avenues.
An agreement of around €60 million
But in the last few hours, the Manuel Ugarte file at Manchester United has evolved since the sale of Scott McTominay to Naples for €30 million allows the Red Devils to be able to enlist the Uruguayan. According to information from The Athletic, MU and PSG have managed to agree to finalize a transfer for €50 million, with an additional €10 million that will be linked to bonuses and the player’s performances with his new team.
Everything will happen very quickly, since the Parisian midfielder is going to Manchester this Tuesday to undergo a medical examination before finalizing his transfer. A nice sale signed by PSG, which recovers almost the entire amount spent for his arrival last summer and which suits all parties in this case. Manuel Ugarte thus becomes the fifth recruit of the nice Manchester United transfer window this summer, after the arrivals of Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
