Paris Saint-Germain loves Portugal’s highly talented pocket midfielders. In 2022, the capital club paid €40 million to acquire Vitinha. After a difficult first season alongside Messi and Neymar, the former FC Porto player is coming off a very big 2023/2024 season with the Parisians. This summer, Luis Enrique dreams of giving him the opportunity to play alongside his compatriot João Neves.

At 19, the Benfica nugget is considered the latest wonder of the SLB. Described as Luis Enrique’s top priority for his transfer window, Neves nevertheless remains a very complicated element to dislodge. Earlier in the day, the Portuguese press revealed that the Aguias rejected an offer of €70 million from PSG. Normal, Benfica are asking for €100 million. An amount considered too high by the reigning French champions.

Kimmich if Neves does not come

Faced with this complicated situation, RMC Sport assures that PSG has reactivated the track leading to Joshua Kimmich. Aged 29 and under contract until 2025, the Bayern Munich leader has already been courted by the Red and Blue, but the latter has never followed up on the Parisian calls. However, his contractual situation has evolved and today, Kimmich’s future in Bavaria is much talked about. With one year left on the German international’s contract, Bayern Munich may seek to sell him if he does not extend.

Some media outlets are also sending him to FC Barcelona to join his former coach Hansi Flick, while the English tabloids have mentioned the Manchester City option. One thing is certain for Kimmich: the announced arrival of the Portuguese João Palhinha heralds more sustained competition. Will the return of PSG finally convince him to change air? It is difficult to say for the moment. In any case, RMC Sport specifies that Luis Enrique greatly appreciates Kimmich for “his technical quality, his leadership but above all his versatility (he can play right back, editor’s note)”. And when we know that the Spaniard loves to test his players in different positions…
