Arriving last summer for the sum of 70 million euros (plus 15 in bonuses), Rasmus Hojlund had a lackluster first season under the Manchester colors.

The Danish striker was not spared from injuries. The 21-year-old has struggled to find rhythm and continuity in his first few months. However, he was able to prove decisive in some important matches this season.

The former Atalanta player found the net 16 times and provided 2 assists in 42 matches in all competitions. During an interview with the newspaper l’Équipe, the United striker explained his love for the English club.

“Why Man United? There are several little things… Already, it was the club that won everything when I was little, they were everywhere. And then there was Cristiano (Ronaldo) and Wayne Rooney. They have always inspired me. Finally, I always found this logo cool… The red and the devil caught my eye. Well, the real last thing is my father’s influence,” he admitted to the French media.

Under contract until 2028

Rasmus Hojlund is one of the most promising strikers on the circuit. This summer, many clubs including Paris Saint-Germain wanted to secure his services. But it was ultimately Man United who won the game during the last summer transfer window.

The Dane is also under contract with the Mancunian club until June 2028. There is no doubt that its leaders are counting on him next season but especially for the next few seasons.
