Actor Emraan Hashmi has created a buzz by teasing his fans with the latest teaser of his much-loved film Awarapan. He took to Instagram and shared an animated clip featuring his iconic character from Awarapan, standing with a pigeon in a cage, looking over a sunset-drenched cityscape. His unmistakable voiceover played in the background. The video shows dialogue, “Maine maut ko bohot kareeb se dekha hai. Kisi aur ke zindagi ke liye marna hi meri zindagi hai.”
As the melancholic notes of Toh Phir Aao followed, the teaser cut to a bloodied hand gripping a gun. Hashmi captioned the post simply, and wrote, “Jummah Mubarak.”
As soon as he dropped the video, fans instantly flooded the comment section, speculating whether this was a hint at Awarapan 2. Comments like Awarapan 2, The lord of Bollywood Emraan Hashmi is back and Awarapan 2 release kab hogi?. While some feel that the film will be re-released just like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Sanam Teri Kasam and more.
About Awarapan
Awarapan was an intense action-drama directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Mukesh Bhatt which was released in 2007. The film also had blockbuster tracks such as Toh Phir Aao and Tera Mera Rishta. The movie followed Hashmi’s character, Shivam Pandit, a hitman employed by Malik (Ashutosh Rana), a criminal from Hong Kong. Shivam was assigned to watch over Reema (Shriya Saran), a woman Malik had taken hostage. However, he found himself at a moral juncture when he learned of her frantic wish to flee and be with her boyfriend again. He decided to assist Reema in defiance of Malik’s commands, which led to a fatal altercation and, eventually, his redemption.
