Barcelona are looking to build a winning momentum as they take on Real Betis in La Liga on Sunday.
It is a must-win game for the under-pressure Catalan side, despite a victory over Unionistas in the Copa Del Rey this midweek.
With Barcelona under pressure, Real Betis midfielder Marc Roca opened up about the upcoming clash, while discussing Barça’s poor form.
“In the first round, Barcelona played an excellent match and we played a bad match, but a long time has passed since then and I think we will see a completely different match with the support of our fans. We have never lost at home, we are strong,” Roca said (h/t Mundo Deportivo).
Formerly of Bayern Munich, Roca joined Real Betis in the summer, on a loan deal from Leeds United, after the English club were relegated from the Premier League.
Roca has become an important player for Betis this season, emerging as a first-team regular in the middle of the park.
When asked about Barcelona’s poor form, Roca said, “Barcelona doesn’t seem affordable to me, we all know how big Barcelona is and the players they have, even though they are not going through their best moments.”
Roca also talked about the poor form of Robert Lewandowski, who has been under fire for his relative lack of scoring rate this season.
Roca, who played with Lewandowksi during their time together at Bayern, backed the Polish international to recover from this rut.
“He is a great professional. He devotes every little detail to improving and I have no doubt that he will overcome this moment. In Munich, he was one of those who helped me a lot. He is a great player and a great person,” Roca said.
One thing is for certain – Marc Roca will play a pivot role this weekend as Real Betis look to neutralise Barcelona’s midfield, which has lacked form and facing immense pressure to perform.
