Carlo Ancelotti must wake up with a smile this morning. Not only did his Real Madrid take another big step towards the title after beating Real Sociedad last night (1-0), but on top of that, he rested most of his executives. The Italian coach is already thinking about Tuesday and the trip to Munich against Bayern in the Champions League semi-final first leg. The big meeting is there. That doesn’t stop certain elements of the squad from taking advantage of the little playing time they get.

Of course our eyes immediately turn to Arda Güler, author of the only goal of the evening yesterday. On a serve from Dani Carvajal, the young Turk scored his second goal of the season for Madrid. Above all, he was celebrating his very first start, we often hear from the Spanish and Turkish media that this lack of playing time weighs on him. This time, he fully appreciated the 68 minutes given by his coach, before being replaced by Vincius Jr.

Ancelotti on HGüler: “There is no doubt that he will stay here next year”

“Those who played less in this last part of the season did very well today. Arda (Güler), Dani (Ceballos), Fran García, had a good attitude on the pitch, good commitment. They foughtrecognized the Italian technician at a press conference, before dwelling at greater length on the situation of the former Fenerbahçe man. Arda scored, he’s going to be a very important player for us in the future. There is no doubt that he will stay here next year.”

A statement which will put an end, at least by the end of the season, to possible rumors of a departure on loan for next season. His management is straining Real Madrid internally between those who would like to see him more on the pitch than on the bench, and Ancelotti who is putting his team in place. The Italian had promised the 19-year-old more playing time over the coming weeks. He is keeping his word, and even better, Güler is there.
