In their first “crossover” edition next February, Realscreen Summit and NATPE Global will feature speakers including Roku content chief David Eilenberg and Warner Bros. Discovery senior exec Jason Sarlanis.
The two conferences, which are both owned by Canada-based Brunico Communications, will take place at the InterContinental Miami hotel from February 3 to 7. Realscreen will run Monday through Wednesday, February 3 to 5, with NATPE set for Wednesday through Friday, February 5 to 7.
Eilenberg’s keynote address on February 5 will be aimed at audiences from both events, with organizers saying he will lay out Roku’s strategic priorities and approach to content, brand partnerships, data and other business areas.
Realscreen Summit on February 3 will open with a keynote address from Sarlanis, who is President of TNT, TBS, truTV, ID, and HLN, Linear and Streaming at WBD. With oversight of a significant portfolio of unscripted programming, Sarlanis will discuss broader industry trends, how attendees can look to create buzzy shows and future growth areas he is anticipating.
“There’s a lot of discussion on the current impact of consolidation, ad revenue migration, tech innovation and the audience shift to streaming, but to help companies plan and prioritize for what’s ahead, we’re asking industry thought leaders to fast forward; in five years, how may these factors reshape the mediascape and impact business models?” said Mary Maddever, EVP, Realscreen and Executive Content Director for NATPE Global. “The keynotes from David and Jason will address this while outlining their strategies for success and how the role of content is evolving.”
Claire Macdonald, Executive Director, NATPE Global, said the show is continuing “to dive in deeper on distribution and growth strategies, broadening the expertise and connections we’re bringing to the stage and the marketplace with companies that represent the new and evolving partnerships and skills that are relevant to growing your business now.”
While the conferences share one crossover day, they will each maintain distinct programming, with attendees encouraged to attend both ends of the week, organizers said.
NATPE was held at the InterContinental in Miami in 2023, returning after two dark years in 2021 and 2022. It was acquired out of bankruptcy by Brunico, one of many institutional casualties of Covid. Realscreen Summit, which is tied to Brunico’s namesake media brand, had primarily been held annually in Washington, D.C.
