Red Velvet is hopeful that Billie Starkz‘s loss at Death Before Dishonor will put her back on the right path in the company.
Newly crowned Ring of Honor Women’s World Television Champion Red Velvet participated in last night’s ROH: Death Before Dishonor Media Scrum. When asked how gratifying it was for her to defeat Billie Starkz tonight to become champion, Velvet said she respects Starkz but hopes she goes back to her old ways.
“It was great. It’s been a long journey,” Red Velvet admitted. “I came back from this injury. I didn’t know where I was going to be, where I fit in, what I could do, and honestly, I thank Billie, I thank Queen [Aminata] because she brought it out of me right before and it was a loss that I did not feel bad for. She deserved it.
“Billie, as bad as things got, I respect her. She gave me the fight of my life tonight, and I hope that she will go back to her old ways. She’s a sweet girl, and nobody knew, but when I got injured and suffered my knee. She’s the one that walked me to my room in my wheelchair. So to see where she’s at now and who she’s hanging out with is a shame. But I will not disrespect her capabilities and the fight that she gave me tonight.
“But at the end of the day, nobody’s going to disrespect me. Nobody’s going to disrespect my hard work, and hard work always pays off. and she learned that firsthand tonight.”
