Alexa Bliss is set to stay with WWE for years to come, according to a new report.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Bliss signed a new five-year deal with WWE on Saturday ahead of the Royal Rumble. Bliss was then flown in for the show.
As previously noted, talent in the Royal Rumble match were not aware that Bliss would be in the bout prior to her arrival. Her spot was initially planned for Shotzi. Sapp writes that WWE prepared merchandise for Bliss’ eventual return, and she started to be factored into plans “a number of weeks ago”.
Per Sapp, Bliss had been under a long-term deal before, and it was extended due to absences. Sapp cites WWE sources who said that Bliss and her reps wanted a new deal, while they wanted her to work on the deal she was already on, she was paid during her maternity leave. Regardless, there would have been time remaining on her previous contract, even if they did not agree to a new one.
