Britt Baker‘s suspension is legitimate, according to multiple reports.
On the July 31 episode of AEW Dynamite, TBS Champion Mercedes Moné said that Britt Baker, her opponent at AEW All In, had been suspended. Naturally, it seemed like part of their on-screen feud. However, there’s more to the situation.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that Britt Baker was suspended and fined after an incident involving MJF and Alicia Atout. Meltzer wrote that Baker was suspended for one or two weeks for an incident stemming from the July 17 taping of AEW Dynamite. There, she allegedly said something about MJF, and his girlfriend, Alicia Atout, told him.
Meltzer wrote that MJF confronted Baker, and this led to an investigation. The report noted that HR “talked to people” on July 24. Furthermore, Meltzer states that the situation stemmed from problems that were not addressed in the past.
More Details On Britt Baker’s Suspension
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) also reported about the situation. He wrote that Baker expressed her frustration about MJF in the women’s locker room, and as Meltzer noted, MJF heard about it as Alicia Atout was in the room.
Per Sapp, the details are unclear, but sources said that there were confrontations between Atout and Baker as well as MJF and Baker. Additionally, Will Ospreay was said to have spoken with Baker. Additionally, the word was that Baker took issue with Atout telling MJF about what was said in the first place.
Sapp’s report notes that Britt Baker and MJF had been close friends previously. However, they had a falling out at some point in the last year. Per Sapp, HR got involved in the situation regarding the argument. He noted that Baker’s suspension was legitimate, as there was an investigation.
Finally, Sapp wrote that Britt Baker is still planned to wrestle at AEW All In.
As of this writing, there is no word on when Britt Baker will return to AEW programming.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
