Report: Carmella’s WWE Contract Has Recently Expired

It is being reported that the WWE contract of former SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella has expired. The report has been made by PWN and confirmed by Fightful.

Carmella has been out of action since she went out on maternity leave in March 2023. Her last on screen match was against Bianca Belair on the March 6 episode of Raw in 2023. She gave birth to her first child, a son, in November 2023.

Carmella has previously commented on a return to the ring stating that she was having complications stemming from her pregnancy. She suffers from foot drop which is a damage to the nerves causing your foot to drag across the ground while walking.

There is no word on if Carmella will continue with WWE down the line at this time. In the past, Superstars such as Candice LeRae and Becky Lynch have both taken time away from the company and have re-signed after letting their contracts expire.
