The wrestling world is buzzing again about a potential match between The Rock and Roman Reigns. “The Great One” recently commented on the possibility on First Take. This conversation often turns to Cody Rhodes, as many fans have predicted that he will face Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
The speculation about a clash between Reigns and The Rock started at WWE Raw: Day 1. There, The Rock teased sitting at the head of the table. Backstage photos showed that Rhodes and The Rock met up backstage, and a new report provides an update.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Rhodes and The Rock briefly spoke before the latter’s promo at the show. Per sources, the “nature of the exchange” was The Rock supporting Rhodes and the work he has been doing. Sapp cites sources who indicated that it seemed like The Rock was not there to get in the way of anything. However, they noted that the exchange came before The Rock’s promo.
Additionally, Sapp cites sources close to The Rock, who noted that he has been supportive of Rhodes, even during his time in AEW.
Cody Rhodes recently stated that he did not view The Rock as in his way on the road to WrestleMania. Check out his comments here.
